The cabinets are going to be the main attraction and whether custom like this kitchen, or basic standard, they are the most critical to a well designed kitchen space. I like painted cabinets but there are some great woods out there to choose from as well. There are also great additions like the cloud corner shelve, appliance and knife wracks and even tip out drawers. Be sure to look around at kitchens in design magazines and online sites to get a feel for what look attracts you the most. Then have at it.
